Note to self: First days are never fun. The 5 hours straight you spent filling out paperwork and watching boring and state-the-obvious-repeatedly videos you did get paid for. Also, you won't always be the 'new girl'. In fact this time next week you'll be smiling at the 'new girl' telling her it isn't all that bad.

Grrr argh I hate first few days in a new job! And assuring yourself that it will be over soon doesn't make it any more fun... *sigh* Well at least they gave me my name-tag the first day and didn't offer one that said "Fernando" until they got mine in like the last place I worked at. But I swear if I hear a cheerful pre-recorded voice tell me "Welcome to the K-Mart family" one more time....

'Kipobe' writes in with possible confirmation that Christopher Young will score Spider-Man 3:It's official. Danny Elfman will NOT be back to score Spider-Man 3 as previously reported, and it has been reported that composer Christopher Young, who completed much of the onscreen score for Spider-Man 2 will helm the project for 2007's most anticipated film.An official announcement is expected to be released soon, but this is coming from the same source who first revealed that Danny Elfman wouldn't be back in the first place.It's also believed that there's a chance Young will reuse alot of Elfman's existing themes, since they are property of Sony, so for continuity sake the film will feel as much a part of the existing Spider-Man franchise as possible.Besides Spider-Man 2, Young has quite a filmography, which you can check out here. He's also expected to score Ghost Rider for Sony.

You Don't Even Feel the Pain

New Constantine wallpaper and I'm just really bored, so you all get to suffer by reading this. So today I had this really scary dream while I was sleeping, trying to get feeling better, and as many times as I tried to wake myself up I just couldn't. And it was one of those dreams where I'd have to physically get up and then lay back down and go to sleep to get out of. It was aweful. I don't remember much, just the basic I or someone close to me was possessed. Things like that don't usually freak me out, but in my dream it was so darn real. Well, it felt real, lol.

But finally I woke up and started moving around. Been feeling really bad the last couple days. Don't know why. Just can't seem to get up and get going. And now here I am at 11pm just typing away out of boredom. Maybe that's my problem--maybe I'm just too much of a night owl to walk around during the day!

Anyway, on the down side, haven't had much insperation to write my Link books as of late. Don't know what's up with that. A few months ago I was eating, sleeping, and breathing Link ideas, and now I can't think of anything. I'm thinking of going back and reading them all. Maybe that would help.

So, I made a Ted icon from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I would make more, but it's so darn hard to find good pictures from a movie that old. But I love the look on Keanu's face in this one, lol.

Anyway, I've rambled enough and have managed to demolish my boredom for a whole five minutes, so I'm signing off now...

Okay, so that stupid term paper I was stressing so much about that was boring to write cuz it was on Netiquette? Well, I got it back today and I got, believe it or not, a 102% out of 100% Yeah, I know. I was just as shocked. She took 3 points off for grammar cuz I didn't indent one of my quotes, and the rest of the categories had perfect tens. What saved me was the lovely little bonus points she didn't tell us about. I got all 5 of those so I got a 102% Methinks we need a shiny celebration for the girl who can write term papers!

He's Doin' His Superman Thing

So they finally put the Matrix Reloaded on TV for me to see the other day. It's so darn hard to be a nerd when they rate everything R like that n owadays. Anyway, back to my point, wasn't dissapointed at all.

Other fans had told me that I'd hate the sequels, but if Reloaded is any indication they're all good. Neo kicked some electronic butt, like always, with some ultra cool fights. The only thing that bugged me was Trinity. Has anyone noticed how she's almost more manly than Neo? I mean, doesn't he look in the mirror and get confused as to why she looks like him? I don't know, it's probably just me, but they don't seem to have chemistry--not like in the first one at least.

I loved her fights too though. Her movements aren't liquid or smooth, they're choppy and to the point. If you get in a fight with Trinity, it's going to be clean and quick.

Now the part where Neo's talking to the maker of the Matrix was a bit confusing. Although I got the gist of it, I think I'm going to have to watch it again before I fully get what he's talking about. It's an interesting idea though, that the machines use our own beliefs and hope against us. Clever really.

And then my favorite fight, the one where Neo takes the sais off of the walls and starts kicking but Elektra style, it was awesome. I've only been waiting for that very fight for how many years now? Oh yeah, two. And the sex scene that got this movie it's R rating? Wasn't germane to the story at all...

Woot woot, someone offered to host my site! So, I was on messenger and all of the sudden some random person added me. Needless to say, I was freakin excited! Okay, I'm at class--was late--and lemme tell you why. Cuz I witnessed a freakin' accident! This motorcyclist was trying to stop after a firetruck drove by (yeah, started with another accident ironically) and couldn't save himself. He rolled a few times, then got up, walked by the front of my car--leaning on it a bit since I'd pulled over by this point--and everyone started telling him to lie down.

I'm no baby when it comes to seeing blood, so I was fine. But this other woman was freaking out, so I called 911 on my cell (grabbed it before I got out to help him) and called. Luckily one of the officers on his way to the first accident stopped and took charge.

Because my car was parked so close to the motorcycle--like three feet away--they thought I'd hit him. And it wasn't until one of the other witnessess cleared things up that the officer stopped asking me questions. So I gave him my info--which was wierd giving him my number cuz he was actually kinda hot--and then waited for the paramedics.

They took care of the guy--who luckily and by some miracle wasn't hurt beyond bruises and abbrasions--and I was told I could leave. But the whole time I was driving to school I was shaking from the shock, because I realized that guy could have died and it would have happened right in front of me.

It's funny cuz I had just said a quick prayer that I'd travel to school safely in my crappy car, and I think that's the only reason I wasn't involved more in the accident. The Lord protects us, He really does. I had a feeling to pray--didn't know why at the time--but He did.

Hurricane Katrina

Wow, what a disaster. Things like this usually pull people together, but instead it's tearing the city apart and throwing it into the chaos of anarchy. I don't think anyone expected things to get this bad. It sounds like a war zone down there, and I can't help but imagine it to be a bit like the War of the World's seen where their car is stolen by the mob.

People are desperate and scared, desperatly scared. They're doing things they normal wouldn't even think about doing. They've just lost all that they hold dear--including those they care about for some--and their world is crumbling.

How can we help them? We really can't, not in the way they truly need help anyway. But, we can donate to the Red Cross, and hope that these people let those who are trying to help them into the city to do just that--help them. Click on the ribbon above to learn how to help!

Homework!?

Eh, school started monday and I can't say that it's been totally fun. I can't say it's been completely horrible either though, as I am enjoying my 2-D class where I get to mess around with Photoshop CS2.

In fact, yesterday when I was supposed to be listening to the teacher's lecture about opening documents in Photoshop (yeah, I know--that's what I thought too) I was practising tutorials I'd downloaded off of the Internet. I should post those on my site so you guys can see what I'm not learning in class, lol.

But anyway, my other class is required before I can take the HTML class I wanted to take (to make my site an actual site with frames and all). That class is so boring. Today I started reading a 40 page chapter about how to print things off of the web. I mean, come one!? You click file, print, what else is there? Well, enough to fill 40 pages apparantly. Ugh, I hate that class!

And there is this annoying old lady who sits one seat away from me, and she won't shut up, couldn't close her mouth if her life depended on it. I swear the next time she asks another of her stupid questions--and hers are all stupid no matter what your teachers used to tell you about questions--I'm tell her exactly where and how to put her text book, and she's not going to be amused by it--although I will.

And in my 2-D class I sit next to this 50-something photographer who's taking the class cuz his skills with photography just won't cut it in this day and age, and he is always asking me for help. Now, I'm proud that I know more than enough to help the guy, but being Peter Parker's tutor takes away from my messing around and limits how many tutorials I can finish while the teacher's lecturing. I know, I'm evil.

But there it is, folks. My first week in college. The good, the bad, and the, well, annoying people I always have to sit next to for some reason! I've bored you enough, so I'm signing off now.

Started Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and I can say one thing after only a few chapters: when they make this movie Tom Felton is gonna be freakin' hot! (That's Malfoy for all you non-movie geeks.)

One More Week

So I put in my two-weeks notice last monday, and next monday is my last day working at Long John Silver's. My reasons are simple: Those in charge of management showed poor leadership skills, faveratism, and inconsistance. So, I'm taking a couple weeks off from work and then I star school at Cochise College.

I'm only taking two classes right now, but they're both computer classes that relate to graphics, so I'm actually looking forward to it! Sonja offered me my old job of babysitting Addie-May last night when I gave her a call, so I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Contains Spoilers

So I just got home from watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory--Tim Burton's version--and I am not at all surprised that I can say it was an excellent film!

First off, Johnny Depp proves once more that he's not just a pretty face with his performance as Willy Wonka, the factory owner. Now we're all used to Gene Wilder's version of the character, but Depp brought it to a whole new level! I mean, only Depp could pull off a personality that is goofy, creepy, lost, confused, and childish while at the same time making him someone you can relate to and grow fond of.

He had me feeling sorry for the character, laughing so hard that I almost cried at his reactions, and yet I always felt like, wow this guy could be a real person. I never had that feeling when watching Wilder's portayal.

On to other aspects of the film, as enjoyable as talking about Depp can be...The music! Danny Elfman returns to Tim Burton's project triumphantly after almost a year since his last Burton film. Only Burton films allow Elfman the creative situations and emotions that his music needs to live. And I believe that this is one of his best scores yet--sitting right below Edward Scissorhands and right above Batman, which will always be anm Elfman classic. I am definitly buying the soundtrack!

Now to the director, Mr. Tim Burton himself. I've been a fan of his work since Edward Scissorhands and have been impressed at the wonderful team that he a Depp make. But with his recent choice of projects, namely Big Fish and Charly and the Chocolate Factory I find myself wondering why he ahs chosen suddenly to take on heavily the theme of family. He has always taken his characters one step further than anyone else could have, but lately his subjects seem to be centered on love and family and how important they are. Even in his upcoming Corpse Bride it is obvious from the trailers that he has chosen another movie themed around true love. True, he has an odd way of presenting it, but the best artist always do.

Finally, the star of the movie (even if Depp was the actor who got the most press) I believe is Freddie Highmore who first amazed me with his acting ability in Finding Neverland. I believe I heard somewhere that Depp suggested him for the role of Charly, and rightly so because the kid did a great job! I hope that the movie industry gives Highmore the attention he deserves and hope to see him in a lot more in the next few years!

Of course the only bad thing about the film is the fact that I'll have Burton's crazy theme running over and over in my mind for days!

So I haven't written for a while and I know there's at least one person in this universe who actually like to read my stuff. Thus this blog entry was born!

So I'm sitting here in my room, thinking about life in general and how it's been for me lately and I realized that things have been going pretty well. I graduated High School, which is always a plus. I get paid this weekend, and I get to go to Disney Land Thurs. and Fri. (Star Wars store here I come! ) My parents have given me considerable freedom since I've graduated, and my 18th birthday is next Tues. Life is pretty good for me right now.

Not saying that nothing bad hasn't happened these last few days, because plenty has, but I've just been trying to focus on the good things. So I won't tell you about my car brekaing down and stuff like that, lol.

So I've almost finished my 12th novel in my series (Titled: The Link) and I know it's not going to be the last one like I originally planned. The story has just grown so much. Looking back on the characters in #1 I'm amazed how much they've evolved. They've all become parts of people I love and care about, which is great because I can gie back to you guys in my writing. I've written some poetry too, but it's on my other computer and I haven't transfered it yet. May post it on here, may not.

The new Star Wars was great--the best of the new trilogy. Lucas finally pulled his head out of his butt and made a good movie with a script that allowed Hayden to actually act. The whole movie deals with how evil can gain control of you, but it makes it a point to show that evil doesn't just reach out and grab you. It reaches you slyly and slowly, so much that you don't even realize when it's finally got ahold of you. The movie is great, and I don't wanna give anything else away, so go see it for yourself even if you're not that big on Star Wars.

I took a moment to look forward into my life ten years today, and I was amazed with what I saw. I saw myself as a mother who stayed home to be with her kids, a wife who was in love with a wonderful guy, and a writer who had self-fulfillment if never public success. I don't know why that surprised me, because it's what I've wanted all along, but it did. I just hope I get all those things. I think it will be important to spend seirous time with my kids so that the TV doesn't raise them instead. Not bashing on any working moms or anything, just my personal view and hope.

Well, I'm gonna sign off for now. I gave you guys enough pointless crap to read with this entry all ready.

Graduation is coming next week, yeah! A week from tomorrow I'll never have to go to Buena High School again, which is definitly a blessing. Thanks to everyone who sent me cards, gifts, and $, you not only made my day but you made my CD collection a bit larger than it all ready was, and it's busting at the seams all ready. I so need a new CD case now for all the new albums I bought.

Work has been kind of blaw lately. Nothing new ever happens in seems, so we've taken to using accents in the drive-through. Jenna used this incredibly fake Brittish accent the other night and the woman took her seriously, which made us crack up! I mean, she sounded way fake and this woman had a straight face and everything!

Just wanna give a shot out to my Grandma Albrecht, cuz I know she reads this. I love you so much! Thank you for the awesome card--which totally made my day--and for actually reading this blog, lol. So, Stewart is moving to Tucson. How strange is that? Guess we'll see him more now, which is great. And I'll probably be going to school up there next year, so I'll get to see him there.

Okay, so I finally broke down and got The Killer's CD and you know what I found? They're just a crappy version of The Bravery. the Bravery is so much better, and the Killers are always bashing them. I hate it when bands do that.

Anyway, I got The Starting Line's new CD "Based On A True Story" yesterday. I know, I know, I wasn't a huge fan of their first CD at all, but this one is different, more grown up.

I also got the Star Wars Episode III soundtrack, but I haven't had much time to listen to it in between school and work. It seems really good and everytime I ehar the Darth Vader theme I get chills down my spine!

Elder Bednar will be in Tucson on Saturday and I get to go see him speak! I'm excited! Not only is he an Apostle of God, but he's actually sort of young, and I really enjoy his talks. Well, I've gotta go. I'll update about graduation soon--Thanks to everyone who has sent me $ and cards! I love you all!

Marvel Enterprises, Inc. and Paramount Pictures, a part of the entertainment operations of Viacom, Inc. announced that they have entered into an agreement under which Paramount will distribute a slate of feature films to be produced by Marvel. Marvel also announced a new, non-recourse financing facility to be provided by Merrill Lynch Commercial Finance Corp. that will allow the company to produce its own slate of feature films based on its renowned comic book characters.

"We are excited to be building our own film slate, and to be doing so using non-recourse financing," said Avi Arad, Chairman and CEO, Marvel Studios. "Paramount Pictures has the most collaborative and creative team in the business to help us market our films. Under its new leadership, we've found Paramount to be exceptional in every way and look forward to working together for a long, long time."

"Marvel has become a marquee entertainment brand," said Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures. "It speaks to Marvel's strength in the marketplace and the great popularity of its brand and characters that Marvel can obtain such innovative financing for its film slate. We are thrilled to partner with them in this new venture."

Marvel has obtained a financing commitment from Merrill Lynch Commercial Finance Corp. for a $525 million non-recourse revolving credit facility over seven years to permit Marvel to fund the production of its film slate. The facility will be secured by the theatrical and motion picture production and distribution rights for ten Marvel characters. The non-recourse element of the structure limits Marvel's cash risk to un-reimbursed development costs and general incremental overhead.

Marvel expects that producing its own slate of films will permit it to obtain greater participation in all revenue streams related to its films and the opportunity to begin building its own film library. The finance structure will also allow Marvel to receive a producer fee for each film and retain all merchandising revenues. Paramount will receive a distribution fee for each film it distributes and will retain worldwide distribution rights in sequels to the films covered under the agreement.

The distribution agreement between Paramount and Marvel specifies that Marvel may deliver up to ten films to Paramount over an eight-year period, with the first titles including Captain America and Nick Fury. Marvel's budgets for each film may range from $45 million to $180 million. The first picture is expected to be released in 2007 or 2008. Paramount will not contribute to production costs, although it will provide advance funding of promotion and advertising for the films.

Marvel's financing is subject to numerous contingencies, including the negotiation of definitive financing and distribution agreements. There is no assurance that the financing will be completed.

Relativity Management, Inc. assisted Marvel with the structuring of the financing.

We're not kidding here, but the Book of Mormon will soon be out in comic book form. It'll be a 12- volume set that will be released over the next several years. Volume One is due out next week. One comic book shop we spoke with already has a waiting list to buy the first issue.

Doug Dial's comic book store in Pleasant Grove carries the typical comic books-- Superman, Spiderman, the X-Men, etc. But on the back wall is something a bit unusual-- the title: "The Golden Plates."

"The Golden Plates" is the Book of Mormon depicted in a comic book; Volume One is First Nephi, Chapters 1 through 14.

Douglas Dial, Owner, Fantasy Rules Comics & Games: “That’s only 30 pages out of the book of Mormon. And he uses 64 pages and almost 300 illustrations to tell the exact same thing.”

The illustrator is Mike Allred, a well-known comic book author and illustrator. He's worked for 15-years with the major comic companies like DC and Marvel. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Allred says he's been thinking about this project for quite some time.

Douglas Dial: “And if there’s any question as to whether Mike Allred is following the scriptures, we checked and he does.”

Word of the new magazine has spread on the internet and comic book afficionados are both panning the effort and praising it.

Doulgas Dial: “His fans who are non-members say, ‘Hey, it’s Mike Allred. You know it’s gotta be good.’ And then there are others who say, ‘I can’t believe Mike Allred would do a religious book. I wanna see the superhero stuff.”

Allred sent Dial an advance copy of the first volume on a CD, and he printed it out to give customers a look.

Nearly 100 of Doug's customers have put their names on a waiting list to buy this first issue, which goes on sale next week. As far as comic books go, this one is unique in that it will not have a surprise ending.

Douglas Dial: “Well, for LDS members, that’s true. But for non-members, I’m hoping that this will be a delightful surprise.”

The author plans to release additional volumes every other month, until the entire Book of Mormon is covered.

The site SyFyPortal has posted a few more tid-bits from Josh Whedon about Wonder Woman

Joss Whedon, recently selected to helm the upcoming "Wonder Woman" film, said he intends the iconic female character to go back to her roots, according to an interview with cable television network VH-1.
"Originally, I was hesitant," said the 40-year-old Whedon, who refers to himself as a "comic-book geek." "But then it's also sort of why I became really interested, because she doesn't have so much baggage for me, the way, say, Spider-Man would."

Whedon, however, admits he's been handed a bicycle with training wheels attached.

"It's been in development for a lot of years. Producer Joel Silver called me, and I came in. When he pitched it, he had a very clear idea of what he wanted to do, which I thought was really smart," Whedon said. "But it was very unformed, and it sort of formed in my brain.
"What I began to realize is I had no choice but to write it," he said.
How much will he borrow from more than 60 years of continuously produced comic books? While Whedon says he's never been a huge fan of Wonder Woman's ongoing titles, his familiarity with them will likely encourage long-time comics fans.

"I mean, I've seen some really good books, some really great work by people — late-'80s artist/writer George Perez and late-'90s artist/writer John Byrne, a lot of guys," Whedon said. "Obviously, I've seen the covers by female superhero artist Adam Hughes, but who hasn't? However, I've seen her more with the Justice League of America and stuff like that."

When asked if he plans to incorporate important parts of the Wonder Woman legend in the film, Whedon did mention that he's going to be very picky when choosing what to use and what to ignore.
"I have a take on all of them," he said. "It has to do with who she is, and they have a certain integrity. I'm not going to do anything silly

Janssen Officially Back for 'X-Men 3'

April 5, 2005 — According to Variety, actress Famke Janssen will be returning as Jean Grey in 'X-Men 3', where she will reportedly rise from the grave as the entity known as Phoenix. The article mentions that Hugh Jackman is already signed in as Wolverine, and that Sir Ian McKellen (Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Professor Xavier) and, surprisingly, Halle Berry (Storm) are all looking likely to rejoin the cast as well. No mention is made of James Marsden, who may or may not be reprising his role as Cyclops, depending on whether a schedule can be worked out as he also shoots Bryan Singer's 'Superman Returns' in Australia.

Who the heck is Marsden playing in Superman? I'll do a search and let you all know...

Stacia's Funeral

Okay, so they finally set a date for Stacia's funeral. It's April 8th- next Friday--and I'm probably going to stay home from school to go. I'm also collecting money from all who want to donate for flowers to give to her family. I don't know if I want to see Stacia or not, so I don't know if I will go to the viewing if they plan one. They haven't so far, so we'll see.

My deepest thanks to all who have comforted me in this time of need, and to those who pray for me without me even knowing it. Your prayers and support have kept me strong!

New FF Trailer Easter Egg

Okay, just watched the new easter egg on the official Fantastic Four website (hit the F4 key once the intro is over to access the Doom Files where it is). It took an hour to download but it was worth it! If you get the chance watch it, because it really shows the Fantastic Four movie as being close to the books and even better than I originally thought!

It starts by showing the storm in space that alters them each, and then how they each react. Victor goes to a Dr. and doesn't like what he's being told so he storms out of the hospital remarking "That's terrible news. I think I'll get a second opinion."

In this preview we're given a little bit of the tension between Ben and Johnny--Johnny looks at Ben once he's The Thing and sarcastically asks, "Where are your ears?" He get a glare from Ben. I was worried they would leave those two arguing out for some reason, but it looks like they're not going to!!!

The scene were Reed sticks his hand under the door is extended, and Johnny looks at him funny and says, "That's gross!" I laughed when I saw this, which must have looked funny to my classmates because I was wearing headphones and they couldn't hear it, lol. It's just showing Johnny's personality, that he's just a kid. I can't wait! Oh, and they had him say, "Flame On!" too! and in the last scene a nurse is taking his temperatre and tells him he's hot because it went up, and he, being Johnny replies, "Why thank you. So are you."

In another scene, Mr. Fantastic and Sue are eating dinner, and she asks him to look at her. The camera angle changes and she's invisible, he replies, "I can't."

The preview shows how the FF use their newfound power for good, and Victor for evil. They show his intentions in one single line, "I've always wanted power." They show him facing off with the police, reaking havoc as he always did in the books.

And then, in my faverite scene, Sue tells Victor. "Victor, you always thought you were a god." It's just the two of them, but she doesn't look at all scared.
He replies. "Let's not fight." To which she snappily sais, "No, Victor, let's." and releases a forcefield that seems to shock him.

Oh, but what really sent chills up my spine was hearing The Thing say, "It's Clobbering time!" They're keeping aspects from the book that I would have been angry if they had left out! I'm so excited!

Oh my gosh I can't wait! One of the last things we see is the 4 symbol in the New York skyline! I've seen a lot of new pics from the film lately too, and I plan on posting them on here this Saturday if I get the chance. I am sooo looking forward to this movie, because it looks like it's done well! I already made sure I have July 8th off from work, lol! I think they're going for the PG13, X-Men crowd on this film though, so I'm not too worried about a possible "R" rating. After all, you exclude the kids and half the audience is gone!

R.I.P Again

Okay, my friend Stacia was killed in a car accident yesterday. When will it stop? I mean, she was just turning 16 today...What happened was she snuck out the night before, and as on her way home when she fell asleep because she was so tired. Her truck rolled and she flew. End of story. Except that today I can't get her out of my mind. I keep seeing her smile as she helped me wash dishes-we worked together at Bada Bings. Everyone at school is mourning, but we're all forgetting the simple fact that, had she been where she was supposed to be, when she was supposed to be there, she would still be with us.

On a happier note, my prom dress should get here on Tuesday. ahd to change it to the oh-so-bright Barbie pink because they were out of the other color. I'm crossing my fingers hoping it will still look okay on me.

I start training to be a Team Leader tonight, which means I shadow the manager all night rather than working. It sounds like fun, since I won't be burned when following the manager, lol. I'll post and let you all know how it's going, because I'm supposed to be night manager on Monday--my first night alone as manager. I'm kind of nervous!

More Characters Join the 'X3' Fray?

XMenFIlms.net has an update from their Fox source about the latest word on the X3 script, and which characters will be showing up this time around:

Gambit and Beast are CONFIRMED as being in the current screenplay, but no word was given about Angel. What does this mean? We're not sure. Either our source just didn't bother to mention the character, or maybe the character isn't a main player? We're not sure just yet.

In addition to Jean's PHOENIX, the SENTINELS and Dr. Bolivar Trask seem to be making their debut in X3, if the current screenplay doesn't go through drastic changes.

Dark Phoenix's Role Clarified?

From IGN FilmForce's investigation of the mysterious lead villain in director Matthew Vaughn's X3:

IGN FilmForce investigated the matter, however, and learned that Dark Phoenix is indeed the big villain in X3. Not the Sentinels, Mr. Sinister, Dr. Bolivar Trask, or the Hellfire Club. We were cautioned, however, that it still doesn't make her the main story. So far this is in line with what Arad has said. So what gives?

Well, there's a reason why 20th Century Fox is developing a Wolverine spin-off and not a Jean Grey spin-off. X2 had Wolverine (a relative outsider to the Xavier Institute) finally becoming more of a team player and acting as a guardian of and leader to the younger mutants who fell under his care. Expect X3 to continue down this path by exploring Logan's growth as a vital member of the X-Men.

While this is less than shocking, hopefully it won't rob Cyclops or Jean Grey of the screentime they deserve.

Nothing much is going on right now. I've been working more than anything--they've decided to make me a "Team Leader" after only three weeks! Yesterday I bought two new CDs: Straylight run (think Something Corporate with a chick that sings sometimes) and Armor For Sleep "What To Do When You Are Dead"

I love Armor For Sleep's CD the best! Their song "Basement Ghost Singing" reminds me of my friend Jade's music (really does, Jade!) and I think that's why I like it so much. Anyway, check out their website:

Okay, wow, so much has happened! First off, I got a new job as a fry cook at Long John Silver's last week. I walked in expecting an application and I got an interview and job all within 20 minutes! It pays $00.25 more an hour than I did at Bada Bings! Of course, I burn myself a lot more, lol. My hands are going to look so gross when I'm old!

The Legend of Claddagh:

There are many stories about the Claddagh ring. Claddagh itself refers to a small fishing village just near Galway city. The Claddagh ring supposedly originated in this area. The ring has a design of a heart being encircled by a pair of delicate hands with a crown above the heart. In earlier times this design was the symbol of the "Fishing Kings of Claddagh" meaning 'in love and friendship let us reign'. In the 17th century the symbol was first depicted on a ring which became the fashionable exchange of friends or lovers. In marriage the heart was worn towards the wrist otherwise towards the fingertips.

The original Claddagh ring is generally attributed to one Richard Joyce, of Galway. Joyce departed from Claddagh, a small fishing village where the waters of the River Corrib meet Galway Bay, on a ship enroute to the plantations of the West Indies. That week he was to was to be married, but his ship was captured by Mediterranean Algerian pirates and the crew were sold as a slaves; Richard Joyce was sold to a Moorish goldsmith who trained him in his craft. He soon became a master in his trade and hand crafted a ring for the woman at home he could not forget. In 1689 he was released after William III came to the throne of England and concluded an agreement whereby all his subjects who where held in captivity by the Moors were to be allowed return to their homes. The Moorish goldsmith offered Richard his only daughter in marriage and half his wealth if he would remain in Algiers. He declined and returned to Claddagh to find that the woman of his heart had never married. He gave her the ring and they were married and he set up a goldsmith shop in the town of Claddagh. (The Claddagh is said to be the oldest fishing village in Ireland). The earliest Claddagh rings to be traced bear his mark and the initial letters of his name, RI (Richard Joyce).

By tradition the ring is taken to signify the wish that Love and friendship should reign supreme. The hands signify friendship, the crown loyalty, and the heart love. The ring has become popular outside Connemara since the middle of the last century - its spread being helped by the vast exodus from the West during the great Famine in 1847-49. These rings were kept as heirlooms with great pride and passed from mother to daughter. Today, the ring is worn extensively across Ireland, either on the right hand with the heart turned outwards showing that the wearer is "fancy free" or with the heart turned inwards to denote that he or she is "spoken for". The pride of place is on the left hand, with the heart turned in, indicating that the wearer is happily married and the love and friendship will last forever, the two never separated.

New Day

Man, I have a headache today and I forgot my check to cash, so I have to run home after school to get it. Bada Bings closed for good on Sunday and I might go in to help Bill clean up sometime this week. It was sad to see it all go, but I got to keep like a billion CDs so that was okay. I'll post pics from Sunday as soon as I get them online.

I finally bought the elektra score yesterday and I love it even more than I thought I would! I also got the band Ivy's CD--they sang on the Roswell soundtrack and I loved their song, but their CD isn't that great. Oh well, it was only $15.00

We have a new project in 5th and 6th hour that's really not that fun (and I should be working on it right now, lol) I usually love this class, but the combination of a headache and a stupid assignment has made me grouchy and I just want to go home.

We went to the temple in Mesa this last weekend. It was a lot of fun, and I had an amazing spiritual experience while there. One of my questions--which had already been answered after prayer a month before--was confirmed to me! Oh, I'm so excited! Afterwords we hung out in the Visitor's Center, and Spencer was there! I love seeing him anyway, but seeing him at the Temple and knowing that he was worthy to go in just made me so happy! We watched the new movie The Testimants 9I totally spelled that wrong), until we had to go. Then the Bishop paid for us to eat at a Mexican buffy, where this clown lady made me a Spider-Man balloon animal thingy.

Today has been pretty awesome. Not only did I get Blimpies for lunch instead of Peter Piper Pizza (like always) I also was reminded that we don't have school on monday! How great is that? Plus, Spencer was in a good mood tday and that always makes me smile.

It was strange--in first hour today I fell asleep after the test (because we had nothing else to do) and I had a dream, which I can't remember anymore, and I woke up feeling great. It was like those 20 mins were all I needed!

We went to the Renaisance Festival yesterday and that was lots of fun. I can't believe how much I ate! There was this guy trying to sell pickles and he was yelling out stupid stuff that made us laugh while we were eating lunch. Stuff like, "Vegitarian Breakfast Sausages!" Just stupid things that made us laugh for some reason, lol.
Everyone there in costume was either trying to show off their not so nice looking bodies or just loved exsess cleavage. It wasn't so great seeing old woman wearing gypsy outifts. I bought that Irish ring that Angel gives Buffy(it's called a Claddagh ring)--only mine has a green heart. Here's a pic of the one Angel gave her (mine's better):

Okay, it's rainy and cold outside and I live in Arizona! How does that work? Well, I'm working on my boyfriend's Valentine's present--I'm excited for monday! I went over to my friend Sarah's house and picked out a cute skirt outfit. Me in a skirt? I know!! But, I want to look beautiful for Spencer, so I'm even curling my hair, lol.
